Where Can I Serve?
How about one of these ministries
Big Lake Baptist is striving to share the Love of Christ with an active ministry approach…
Sunday School
Age appropriate Bible Study Classes for every age group. Classes start at
9:45am every Sunday and Visitors are not only welcome, but desired. Our classes afford a great place to connect with a small group in an effort to explore God’s Word while sharing with those of similar age and interest. Come see what all the excitement is about!
Connect Groups
Beginning in Sept 2011, Big Lake Baptist is implementing ‘Connect’ Groups. These small groups are designed to be more than a traditional place for Bible Study. They are specifically focused on personal growth and development for every individual of the group. Collectively these groups of not more than 15 people, seek to engage in sharing God’s Word and developing members who are truly connected with God, His church, and its purpose. Meeting in homes around our community affords an opportunity to become a part of a small group with a real connection. Contact us today if you want to get ‘Connected!’
Celebrate Recovery;
A Christ-centered recovery program
Lives are changing! Celebrate Recovery is a program designed to help those struggling with hurts, hang-ups, and habits by showing them the loving power of Jesus Christ through the recovery process. Our CR program is limited in scale but huge in impact. We encourage you to inquire today!
Wednesday Night Fellowship (Sept – May)
Come join us for a wonderful time of food and fellowship each Wednesday
evening at 6pm. Our cooks are phenomenal and we truly enjoy a full coarse meal every week! Immediately after you can find a place for you and your children to be enriched through Adult, Youth, and Childrens Bible Studies. These focused study groups afford wonderful opportuntities for personal development.
Music & Drama
God-honoring, and God focused worship is something we strive for. Our church members get involved in our music and drama ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. Others are involved in our choir. Still others get involved in drama. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of our church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.
Mission Outreach
Big Lake Baptist Church is thrilled to be part of the spreading God’s Kingdom around the world. We are active in sending missionaries and supporting these missionaries with our money and with our prayers. As a participating member of the Cooperative Program of SBC Churches, we support more than 5000 missionaries in both foriegn countries and here at home across North Amercia. In addition, we have mission teams sent directly from Big Lake Baptist that minister abroad and here at home.
Library
Our Church boast one of the most comprehensive Christian Library’s in the
Valley. Two separate rooms are stocked full with thousands of titles from well known Christian authors in both a Fiction and Non-Fiction.
Food Pantry
Our food pantry is a direct touch ministry. It makes contact with people in
need by providing short term urgent assistance to those who might not otherwise eat. It’s regularly stocked with easy to prepare items that don’t require extensive kitchen facilities and also contains limited personal toiletries.
Quilting Ministry
Ever wonder what to do with those left over swatches of material. Here at
BLBC, we put them to good use making quilts for those in need. Our quilting
ministry is a unique manner in which we not only share our time and talents – but render the warmth of God’s Love!
Van Ministry
Need a ride to church? Can’t figure out how to get here. Just give us a
call and we’ll arrange someone to swing buy and pick you up in our Church Van. This ministry has been especially useful for children, youth, and senior adults who might not otherwise have a means to attend. Just give us a call… the motors running.
Prayer Warriors
Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Big Lake Baptist Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday, during the evening service, a team of volunteers is praying for the ministry of the Church. Throughout the week, Prayer Warriors pray for church members, any special requests, and missionary prayer needs. If you have a special prayer need, please let us know at blbc@mtaonline.net
Children’s Church
In order to give our children the best Bible teaching possible, Big Lake Baptist holds a children’s church service in conjunction with the main service. This special time gives kids more opportunity for interaction and learning in a context and manner that may be better suited to their age and learning styles. Our friendly children’s church volunteers have an endless stream of creativity–ranging from music, to games, to object lessons.
Ushers
The usher team at Big Lake Baptist Church fills an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, guiding traffic, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, unlocking doors, locking doors, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. The usher team is a servant-hearted group of men whose ministry is integral to church life.
